Show Rites Conducted For L Morrison Friday In Delta Funeral services for Layfayette Morrison, 71, who died suddenly Monday night, were conducted on Friday afternoon in Delta Second ward church by Bishop William S. Bassett. Prelude and postlude music was played on the organ by Mrs. Thel-ma Thel-ma Black. The opening prayer was offered by June Hinckley. Mrs. Norma Wright played an organ solo, "Ave Maria," and Cleo Whicker played a trumpet solo, "Traumerai," accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Erma Roper. Speakers were George Jensen of Sugarville, a friend of Mr. Morrison's Morri-son's for many years, and Bishop Bassett. They paid tribute to Mr. Morrison as a man who had done much, quietly, to benefit his fellow fel-low man and improve his community, commun-ity, as a good friend and neighbor. neigh-bor. The closing prayer was by Don Woodbury. Burial was in the Delta cemetery, under direction of the Nickle Mortuary. Marvin J. Moody dedicated the grave. |
