Allred held their reunion at Deser-e- t Sunday. A musical program was given by the group.. Games were played and visiting was enjoyed by all. Those present were.: Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Allred, Mr. and Mrs Ori.n Allred and family from Deseret; Mr. and Mrs. Garth Bishop and children, Salt Lake; Mr and Mrs. Darrel Allred, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Allred, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allred, Mr .and Mrs. Bryce Allred from Salt Lake; Mr Leigh Allred, Cowley Allred, Evan Allred from Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Allred and family from Del-ta. They plan on holding the re-union next year at Provo. Bennett Reunion Held Sunday in Deseret Church The families of John R. and Margaret C.ihoon Bennett held their family reunion at Deseret ward church Sunday, June 29, with sixty-nin- e members present. Lunch was served at noon, af-ter which a program under the direction of President Leslie C. Bennett was conducted with Eddys Bennett Barben as secretary. The welcome address was given by J. A. Bennett, followed by a brief history of the family. The program was then presented as follows: Piano solo, by Merrill Moody, son of Lowell and Lillian Bennett Moody; tap dance, Julie Barries, daughter of, Delbert and Ina Ben-nett Barnes, family history, May Petty; Piano solo, Rulon Dee. Bennett, son of Jerold and Ava Bennett; recitation, Stephen Bennett, son of LaMont and Louise M. Bennett; ac cordion duet, Linda Kay and Col- - leen Barben, daughter of Arch and Eddys Barben; Dance, by Sylvia Moody, daugh-ter of Lowell and Lillian Bennett Moody; piano duet Cleo Petty a.nd his son, Neil; recitation, Garry Willden, son of Verland and La Rue Bennett Willden. Song and dance, Bruce, Kim and Kerry Lynn Cameron, children of Elliot and Maxine Petty Cameron; reading, Jane Petty, wife o Cleo Petty. Short responses and comments were made by LaMarr Bennett, Chicago, 111.; Ina Bennett Barnes, Portland, Ore.; Cloyd Bennett, Las Vegas, Nev.; Leon Bennett, Cedar City, and Jerold and Lawrence Ben nett, Deseret. The rest of the day was spent visiting and reminiscing, enjoyed by all. New officers for the coming year were chosen as follows: Pres. LaMont L. Bennett, Cedar City; secretary and treasurer, Lola Ben-nett Bishop, Salt Lake City, and historian, Maxine Petty Cameron, Richfield. lxcBEfaaage Vows In Temple Kites The Salt Lake LDS Temple was, the scene for lhe marriage of Man ly.n Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Palmer, of Hinckley, and Mr. LaVerne Roy Hansen, son of Mr. Quincy Hansen, of Frontier, Wyoming. The ceremony was performed Friday, June 20, by Robert I. Bur-ton, and the young couple was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Leo-nard Palmer, Mrs. Lola Barnes, Mrs Fern Hepworth, Mrs. Celestial and Mrs. Jean Krannend-onk- . Following the ceremony lunch-eon was served the party at the ZCMI tea room, after which the newlyweds left for a brief honey-moon to Yellowstone Park and Jackson Hole area. The new Mr. and Mrs. Hansen were feted at a reception in the Hinckley high school gymnasium on Friday. June 27. Attending the bride as bridesmaids were Marie Lytle, Louise Hoffman, Joan Wray and Marlene Ekins. Monte Palmer brother of the bride, performed duties as best man. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Palmer, Mr. Quincy Han-sen and Mrs. Lola Barnes, sister of the groom, also greeted the many guests. Birdie Lou Allred, Kathryn Man-i- s and Anna Lou Dewsnup took charge of the gift tables. The bride's former Primary girls serv-ed refreshments and helped with the gifts. Dana Pratt acted as master of ceremonies for a short program, which included a vocal solo by Talmage Christensen, a reading by Birdie Lou Allred, an accordion so-lo by Roma Ekins, and a vocal solo by Ladd Cropper. The bride wore a gown of white slipper satin, trimmed with Chan-till- y lace, fashioned with full train. Her veil was held by a tiara of seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and trad-itional orange blossoms centered by an orchid. The new Mrs. Hansen was pre-viously honored at a bridal show-er given by Miss Marlene Ekins at her home. A group of the bride's friends attended. The' young couple has returned to make their home in Salt Lake City, where both are employed. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Kelly, of Fresno, Cal., Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hogge, and son .Ralph, of Sacra-mento, and Mrs. Mandy Schneider, of Berkeley Cal., are visiting in Oasis with their brother and sis-ter, Oscar Kelly and Mrs. Hilding Sjostrom, and families. They will all attend the Kelly family reunion in Salt Lake on July 6. RM 2 Ned Beckstead, USN, re-turned to Delta last Thursday night, released from the service after four years. Ned was in the Philippines, China and Japan. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Beckstead, of Delta. Gam L. Moody, from Los I eles, arrived in Delta this Wei" Mrs. Moody and their daughter' i Garnee, will join him here ' lat er and spend the summer.. I Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Snow have returned 'from a trip 0f several ' weeks spent in Oregon and Mr and Mrs. Grayson Roper of Oak City and Mr. and Mrs. Delta spent Thursday and Friday at Fish Lake. Fay Dutson, in Korea, wrote home during the week to say that he and Lawrence Wright had gone to church 20 miles from the front lines, and there they met Rex Har-ris There were eight servicemen present, and three were local boys. of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Fay is a son Lawrence is a Dutson, Hinckley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wright, Hinckley and Rex is a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Roper, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Erickson, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wright, and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Christensen. Oasis 11 CIsilts Conduct Meeting The Oasis club joined to-gether to take charge of Sunday night meeting in Oasis ward. Mrs. Glenda Roundy and her girls, Mary Jean Lovell, Linda and Norma Fay Howell, gave the motto and pledge. "They led the audience in the Pledge to the Flag; and gave a poem on the flag. Mrs. Eathel Skeem and her group furnished talks and poems. The girls were Evelyn Kay Skem, Hazel Skeem, Inez Ann Kelly, May Jean Barber, Margaret Stanworth and Marilyn Stanworth. Mrs. Dorothy Barber; a 4-- moth er, gave a talk on "How 4-- Hel-ped My Daughter". Mrs. Glenda Roundy explained work. Songs were also sung by the groups. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Morrism drove to Los Angeles Tuesday, 0 a ten-da- y trip. Keith Maloney was graduated with honors from Creighton School of Law, at Omaha, Neb., at exer-cises last week. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Maloney, of Provo, and his sister, Miss Alice Merle Maloney, attended his commence-ment.Keit- h attended Delta schools as a boy, and later was at BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Judd are leaving Thursday for Panguitch, to attend funeral services for Mrs. Alice Haycock, a sister of Mr. Judd She died Sunday. Her son, in ser-vice in Korea, is being sent home for the services. Friends here learned recently of the death of ta Ward White, on June 11, at Downey, Gal. Mrs. White will be remembered as one of the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Ward, early Deltans. She was married to Jack Thurston, at- one time mayor of Delta. After his death she married Tom White, who survives, her. Mrs.- White's home had been in California for the past 25 years or longer. The first meeting of the Stilch-Ette- s club from Deseret was held at the home of our leader, Evelyn Cropper, on May 29. We el-ected the following officers: Pres. Joyce Davis, vice pres., Marlena Carling, secretary, Ina Rae Dam-ro- n and reporter, Linda Mae Crop-per. Our second meeting was held on June 6 at the home of Ina Rae Damron. On June 12 we met at the home of Joyce Davis. .We started sewing projects and Joyce Davis gave the lesson, "Do You Carry Yourself With Pride". On June 19 we met at the home of Evelyn Oahoon. Ina Rae Damron gave the lesson "Do You Stand Tall," We sewed on our dresses. Our next meeting was held at the home of Marlena Carling. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Jones is their daughter, Ber-nie- Teubner 'from Santa Monica, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Wells Wood and daughter, Raelene returned to Santa Monica for a visit with cou-sins, Violet and LaRae Jones. Mrs. Teubner Tetufned to Delta with Mr. and Mrs. Wood and Larry. Mr. and Mrs. John Talbot, of Lynndyl, celebrated their forty -- eighth wedding anniversary on Wednesday, June 25. That even-ing they were honored at a dinner party at the home of their child-ren, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Talbot, in Delta. After dinner they were tak-en to the show. Dr. and Mrs. M. A. Lyman have recently returnd from ia cruise to Alaska on the excursion liner, U. S. S. Prince George. At the Kiwan-i- s concert given on deck June 12 Mrs. Lyman was on the program for a vocal solo and also, as pian-ist 'for another soloist. Dr. Lyman was awarded prizes for top score in the table tennis and shuffle board tournaments. |
