MABEL HARDER Mr and Mrs. J. R. Hanson and lrls attended the wedding last Tuesday in Scipio of Miss Zella Hanson oi Scipio and Mr. Dale Brunson of Fillmore. The new Mrs. Brunson is Rawl's niece. Mrs Reuben Jones and son, Don aid and Mrs. Belle Matheson of Milford, visited Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Walker Finlin-so- n and family. Miss Ruth Jensen of Salt Lake City his been spending her vaca-tion with her father, Mr. Sam Jen-sen. ' The organization of Junior faun-da- y School was completed this week with the first meeting to be held this Sunday. Norma Nielson is the new president with Carma Hanson and Edith Harder as cour cilors. A district Explorer Post of Honor was held in the Leamington park Tuesday evening. Group singing around the bon fire was followed presentation of awards, by the 'remainder of the evening was spent roasting weiners. Mrs. Freda Hansen expects to go to Salt Lake Monday where she will undergo examination by a bone specialist from the East. She has had considerable trouble with her back and may have to undergo major surgery. Nielsen's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cockran ot Kansas City. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Johnson and family, Marie and Frank Johnson, ol Hurricane, were over-nig- vis-itors ot Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur" Hoover made a trip to Salt Lake last week. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Thompson and girls visited in Salt Lake City with relatives Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. Thompson is taking his vacation. Sunday they visited in Milford with their son, Mac and family who have a new baby dau-ghter. Mrs. Joe Easterbrook and child-ren were here for the week with Mrs. Mary Smith. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith Jr. o Salt Lake came down and spent the day Saturday . The Smiths enjoyed fishing at Cherry Creek. Miss Rosalynd Edwards spent several days in Milford while her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Ed-wards and Alan were on a fishing trip to Fish Lake. Mrs. Anna Mc Mahn was here over the week end with. Mr. and Mrs. Curt Johnson. She returned to Tooele Monday morning. Mrs. Lucile Johnson had her sis-ter and mother from Idaho for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Jeppson and son, Craig of Salt Lake were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson Sunday. Mrs. Eleanor Nielson and moth-er, Mrs. Minnie Ashby, spent the day Thursday at Manti with other members of the Stephenson fam-ily. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mc Cardell stopped off on their way home to Burley Idaho after a trip to California, for an overnight stay with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mc Card-ell, who drove them on to Salt Lake, where they took the bus home. Mrs. Lucille Overson and boys Were Provo visitors last Tuesday. Mrs. Carolyn Gaysford and chil-dren visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson Saturday then they left for Provo for a visit with Mrs. Gaysford's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chick Simpson. Mrs. Eliza Farnsworth has been here for the past week with her daughter, Margie Greathouse and family. Mr. and Mrs. George Max-- well and son spent the week end at the Greathouse home also. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Whatcott have their grand daughter, Marie while her mother, Iva Howlett and sons are vacationing at Yellow-stone Park. A large group attended the wed-ding dance at Delta for Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Dutson Saturday even-ing. Down from Bluffdale were Mr. and Mrs. Darold Turner and Mr. and Mrs. Ballard Dutson. Mrs. Clarence Hogan left Sun-day for Idaho where she will visit her sisters, Mrs. Sophia Burke in Poeatello and Mrs. Emily White-head at Grace. Monday evening Mrs. Mary John son, Mrs. Lucille Overson, and Mrs. Mary Smith attended the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Her-ric- k Muhlestein at Cedar City. The bride, Joyce, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Royal Terry. Sunday evening the speakers in church were Mrs. Alberta Banks and Mrs. Hazel Sheriff. Sibyl and Nona Sheriff, accompanied by their sister, Gwen, sang a duet. Mr. and Mrs. Max Johnson and children drove to Salt Lake City, Thursday to visit with her sister and family Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Austin, before the Austins left for their home at San Diego. Mrs. Flora Watson and daugh-ter, Joyce, of Salt Lake City are visiting here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan May. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Edwards and children spent from Wednes-day to Sunday at Fish Lake. Their young son, Wayne caught his first lake fish there and it weighed in at 1 pound. Pretty good for a beginner. Misses Anna Mae and Nedra Forbush of Monroe are visiting hpra wi h their sister. Marilyn Ed- - wards. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Johansen of Kenilworth and Mr. and Mrs. Mor-oni Johansen of Mt. Pleasant spent the week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Sorensen. They also visited with other members of the family including Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Avon Barney, Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Johansen, Herald Petersen and Heber Tip-pet- ts were in Salt Lake City on business last Tuesday. Miss Joan Sorensen spent from Tuesday to Friday of last week visiting friends and relatives in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Sorensen have also had as visitors this week Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bruner and Leona Jensen of Ontario, Ore., and Mrs. Thena Heath of Redmond . The Three Thrifty Homemakers met June 23 at the home of their leader, Mrs. Jonel Nielson. Gay Robinson called the meeting to or-der, after which the lesson was given, "Do You Climb with Ease" They worked on their luncheon sets. Another meeting was held June 30 at the home of their lea-der, at which time they discussed what they could do to improve their community and also worked on the luncheon sets. The next meeting is July 3 at 3 p. m. at the home of Iris Nielson. On Monday, June 30, the Sew and Sews met at the home of Arjarma Dekker with the follow-ing members in attendance: Mar-garet Wood, Arjanna Dekker, Dar-len- e Curtis, June Peer, LaRhue Tol-ber- Lynda Loveil, and Bonnie Largent. |
