Show II. II.. S. News LYLA RAE TALBOT The Maroon Key club have got their new uniforms. They consist of a maroon skirt and sport sweater swea-ter and a white sweater with white shoes. They are very peppy this year and want everyone to come to the game next Friday night and see them appear in their new uniforms to present a clever pep stunt under the direction of the cheerleaders. The cheerleaders also have new uniforms. They are a full length full skirted one-piece dress. They are of a shinny maroon mar-oon and white. They appeared in them for the first time at the Millard-Hinckley game in Fillmore. They really added a lot to the cheering section. The cheerleaders are Margene Hilton Carol Keller and Marilyn Murray. MILLARD GAME The Hinckley Mustangs were defeated de-feated on the Millard Eagle's floor last Friday. Hinckley came thru with a big start in the first two quarters but lost part of their grip in the last two. The game started with Ray Robinson, Merlin Theobald, Theo-bald, Dale Carling and Harold Hep worth and Jay Mc Donald as me starting five. At the end of the first quarter the score was 14 to 7 in Hinckley's favor. The end of the second quarter showed a tie-up tie-up of 17-17. The last two quarters the Millard Eagles took the top of the score and ended the game in their favor with a unbalanced score. This week the Milford Tigers Tig-ers journey to Hinckley for the sec ond league ball game of the year. This promises to be an interesting game. Reserved tickets are now on sale at the office. Milford played pla-yed Beaver last week and were defeated de-feated by a score of 53-18. ASSEMBLY An assembly will be presented to the student body this Friday under the direction of Mae Jean Petersen, Pep Club president. The theme will be based on the ball-game ball-game to be played that evening. NEW STUDENT We wish to welcome Dorothy Silvers back to the high school this year. She has been working the first half of the year and so was unable to attend school. Now she is back to raise the number of the senior class and the school is happy to have her. PLAY CAST PARTY The school play cast of "Seventeenth "Seven-teenth Summer "held a party at the home of their director Mrs. Har riet Spendlove. The evening was spent in playing games. Refreshments Refresh-ments furnished by those attending attend-ing were served to Doug Allred, Lowry Bishop, Sheldon Christensen, Christen-sen, Erma Roundy, Verlene Stevens Stev-ens Dorothy Morris, Shirley Davis, Dav-is, Corma Wright, Kathryn Ekins, and Lyla Rae Talbot. Everyone enjoyed the evening and had a lot of fun calling the kids by their play cast names. OPERA The chorus class has chosen the annual opera for this year. They decided on a Spanish opera entitled entit-led "Don Alonso's Treasure." The date of the opera will be set later lat-er and will be under the direction of the music teacher, Mrs. Stockman. Stock-man. JUNIOR PARTY Some of the Juniors bundled themselves up quite thickly last Saturday and set out for the river for a day of skating. The ice was very good and even though it was a bit cold they all had fun and enjoyed themselves. FHA MEETING FHA meeting will be held on Thursday evening at 7 at the high school in the Home Ec- room. The meeting will be under the direction of Lyla Rae Talbot. Knitting Knit-ting will be taken up and Mrs. Ivy Allred, Mrs. Joy Hurst will show the girls a few important steps in knitting. HOME EC. TEACHER Mrs. Reed Robison is leaving the high school at the end of this week. Her husband, is being transferred trans-ferred to another place to work which prevents her from teaching school any longer. Mrs. Mavis Hardy Har-dy will take her place the first of next week. The student body wants to thank her for the many things she has taught them and welcome her back any time. |
