Show FIRST AID to the -- 3--A!UrmHQiJS I H a By RC3ERT77 Question: The woodwork in home was originally stained gum wood. I sandpapered the stain a best I could and painted it with semi gloss white paint. I find that the white paint keeps chipping off Would you advise me to sand it off or use paint remover' What should I use for an undercoat to keep it from chipping? Would aluminum paint be all right for an undercoat? Answer: Aluminum paint makes a very good priming coat, or you could use two coats of enamel un cercoater and then a coat of en" amel. To remove the chipping paint, try to get a small, portable electric sander, which would save time and labor. You could also soften the paint with paint remover remov-er and then scrape it off. Follow by thorough cleaning with tur-1 pentine, for if every trace of re mover is not washed off, it wi; continue its action and spoil the new paint. |
