Show Pvt. Larry Gardner, who has been stationed at Fort Eustis, Va., is spending a furlough in Delta with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Eugene Eu-gene Gardner. He made the trip here by airline, and will report Aug. 27 at Fort Stoneman, Cal., and from there goes to Korea. Delta Musicians Give Program On Richfield Station Delta musicians proved to be minute-men Thursday night as they broadcasted a group of songs over KSVC in Richfield on the "Spur of the Moment" invitation of the station's operators. The Harmonettes, Norma Hannifin, Han-nifin, Thelma Black, Homer Christ-ensen, Christ-ensen, Dale Johnson, and Mrs, Gen eva Pace had gone to Richfield to record some o'f Mrs. Pace's original composHions and other selections. The surprise invitation to perform for the listening audience came so quickly that they hardly had time to get the bass viol and accordion out of the cars before it was time to go on the air. The group was complimented highly by the Richfield staff for their entertainment and were as- ked to come again and give pro- ' grams. After the broadcast, they made the recordings as they had originally origin-ally planned. Norma Hannifin on the violin, Thelma Black at the piano, and Homer Christensen at the bass viol were the accompanists accompan-ists to Mrs. Pace's compositions that were sung by the three Harmonettes, Har-monettes, Cherie Hannifin, Bonnie Black, and Lila Sampson. The trio with Homer and Dale accompanying accompany-ing them, made two other recordings. record-ings. N Max Hannifin and L. D. Pace were also members of the group. They did the chauffeuring. . |
