His wife, Mrs. Norene Killpack, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Killpack, were in Salt Lake to see him off. Levant Brings Music To Utah A great music treat is promised January 9 when Oscar Levant, one of the most extraordinary person-alities in American Music, makes an appearance as guest artist with the Utah Symphony orchestra at the Salt Lake Tabernacle. Levant was recently featured in the new motion picture, "An Am-erican in Paris". The nimble finger-ed star of top flight radio and TV shows and a raconteur quoted from Broadway to Hollywood, will bring to Utah music fans a per-sonality of amazing versatility and appeal. Levant has delighted millions oi fans with his ability at the piano and his wit but first and foremost he is a musician of the highest cal-ibre. He has appeared with many of the finest symphonies in Amer-ica. In his appearance with the Utah Symphony, Levant will play major works of George Gershwin, includ-ing "An American in Paris", '"Con-certo in F" and the famed "Rhap-sody in Blue", with the 86 - piece Utah Symphony and Maestro Maur ice Abravanel. Tickets are now on sale at the Utah Symphony office, at Benn-ett's 55 West First South in Salt Lake City. Airss&an Trains At Warren AFH Pfc. John H. Crafts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Crafts of Hin-ckley, is presently training at an Air Force Technician at the USAF Technical School at Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, is has been announced by the Commanding of-ficer. At this historic former cavalry post outside Cheyenne, the Air Force is training young men in the many specialties needed for air power. Besides clerical skills such as clerk-typis- t, the schools at Warren Air Force Base train automobile mechanics, powermen, teletype operators and teletype re-pairmen. Fidelity Club lias Xinas Party Fidelity club members entertain-ed their husbansd at a Christmas party Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn John-son. Turkey dinner was served, and then Santa Claus arrived with gifts for all present. A program was given later. Final publication, Dec. 27, 1951 NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING OF THE STOCKHOLDERS OF THE DELTA CANAL COMPANY, A UTAH CORPORATION, AND THE BUSIN-- I ESS TO BE TRANSACTED AT SAID MEETING NOTICE is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Stock-holders of the DeJta Canal Com-pany, a corporation, will be held on Tuesday, the 15th day of Jan-uary, 1952, at the hour of 12 noon, at the Sutherland Ward Hall, R. F. D., Delta, Utah, for the following purposes: 1. To hear the Annual Report of the Secretary and Treasu-re.-. 2. To elect a Board of five D-irectors. 3. To hear, consider, and vote upon a proposal, heretofore recommended by the stock-holders at the Annual Meet-ing held January 16, 1951, to amend the Articles of Incor-poration of the company, as follows: (a) To amend Article IX of the Articles of Incorporation to read as follows: ARTICLE IX: The number and kind of officers of said corporation shall be as follows: A Board of five (5) Directors, a President, a a Sec-retary and a Treasurer. The office of Secretary and Treasurer may be held by one person. In order to be eligible to an office in this corporation, except that of Sec-retary and Treasurer, the holder shall be the owner, as shown by the stock book of this company, of at least one (1) share of the capital stock thereof. The term of office of the Directors in said corporation, except those first elected pursuant to this amend-ment, shall be lor two (2) years, and until their successors shall be duly elected and shall have qual-ified. At the Annual Meeting of the stockholders to be held on the third Tuesday of January, 1953, there shall be elected three (3) Directors to hold office for a tern of two (2) years, and two (2) Directors to hold office for a per-iod of one (1) year. Thereafter, at each annual election, the suc-cessors to the Directors whose term shall expire in that year, shall be elected to hold office for a term of two (2) years. There shall be held on the third Tuesday in January of each year, beginning with the year 1953, at 1 o'clock p. m. of said day, at the office of the company at Delta, Utah, an Annual Meeting of the Stockholders of this corporation for the election of the members of the Board of Directors whose terms shall have expired in that year, and for the transaction of such t other business as may lawfully come before said meeting. The Board of Directors of the corpor-ation shall elect the other officers of the corporation and such offic-ers shall hold office during the pleasure of the board. Any officer may resign by filing a written re-signation with the Secretary of the company, or in case of the resign-ation of the Secretary, with the President or nt of the company. Any Director may be removed by a majority vote of the capi- tal g stock of this corporation at a meeting called for that purpose at which at least two (2) weeks notice shall have been given by personal service, or by mail to the addresses of each stockholder. as shown by the books of the company, and by advertisement once each week for at least two weeks in some newspaper publish-ed at the town or city where the present place of business is locat-ed, or in case no such newspaper is published in such city or town, then in a newspaper having a gen-eral circulation therein, and the successors to those Directors re-moved shall be chosen at the same meeting. 4. Kimball Hansen, from Scott AFB, 111., arrived in Delta during the week with a furlough. He is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen, and returns to his base Jan. 9. Also home for the holidays is Miss Carol Hansen, who is teaching school at Moab. Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Twitchell, who have been living in Grants-vill- e for the past few months, re-turned to Delta for the Christmas holidays. They brought home their old son, Brent Lynn, who has been in the Salt Lake general hospital for treatment for polio. Delta Fine Arts Club Entertains Delta Fine Arts Club entertained at a Christmas party Monday night Dec. 17, for members and guests. Seventy guests were present. The party was held in the recreation room at the Delta First ward, wh-ere turkey dinner was served at tables beautifully decorated for Christmas. Dancing was enjoyed later. Hostess for the event were Mrs. Evan Gardner, Mrs. Lincoln Elia-so- n, Mrs. E. L. Moody and Mrs. Gerald Huff. Carl Corry, also home for the holidays, drove to Salt Lake to meet him. Word from their other brother, SFC Donald Corry, in Kor-ea, was that he had just had a R and R in Japan, which was won-derful after months on the Korean front. NOTICE TO ALL HORSE OWNERS Notice is hereby given that in accordance with the provisions of the State Law, the Board of Coun-ty Commissioners of Juab County, Utah, will proceed to eliminate abandoned horses from the open range in said County and that be-ginning on or about January 15, 1952, a drive will be made and all abandoned horses running upon the open range in the vicinity of Judd Creek, Cherry Creek and Des-ert Mountain will, under the super-vision of the County Commission-ers, be corralled.
