Peterson, repres-entative o the Social Security of-fice, will be in the Courthouse at Fillmore on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 1 p. m. in accordance with a reg-ular monthly schedule of provid-ing assistance to residents in this area. . Twenty friends from Salt Lake City journeyed to Delta Saturday night, to give Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Morley a "house-warming- ". Din-ner was served, and a gift for the new home presented to the Mor-ley- s. Ogsens Season First meeting of this season f the Fidelity Club was on Thursda'-night-with Mr. Ada Johnson I hostess. Dinner was served City Cafe and later the gujz went to the Johnson home for business meeting. The program n! the coming club year was outlined Club members present were Ava Starley, Ella Black, Merluie Card ner, Norma Hannifin, Inez Moody Thelma Seegmiller, Ora Gardner Luella Nickle, Hannah Larson R0' mania Bird, and Clara Killpack Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Steele and mother, Mrs. John E. Steele, at-tended funeral services in Escal-ant- e Sunday for Thomas Spencer, a brother-in-la- of Mrs. Steele. FMA Officers Attoeatl Moot The Delta chapter of Future Homemakers of America attended the annual state convention in Provo Sept. 14 and 15. Those who attended were Kae Henrie, Pres.; Dorothy Brumley, sec; LaRue Anderson, reporter; Raeline Wood, historian; and their adviser, Mrs. Julia Bliss. The .new officers returned home full of enthusiasm to get the new year's program started. Nearly every high school in the state was represented. The girls spent Friday and Saturday night in the new girl's dorm at BYU and attended their meetings in the Joseph Smith building. They spent Friday night at a get acquainted social. Saturday was spent in departmental meet-ings, where they received instruc-tions, information.. Saturday night they enjoyed themselves atT'tal-e.n-t show and square dance. Mrs. Orran Ashby and sons, Rich ard, Larry and Kenneth, and dau-ghter, Margaret, left Delta last Wednesday for their home in Phoe-nix, Ariz.., They had spent the summer in Delta on the Ashby North Tract Farm, where Mr. Ash-by is remaining until after thresh-i- n g. Dr. and Mrs. E. V. Mortensen ot Los Angeles, visited over Friday night in Delta with Mr. and Mrs Harry Crane. They were on their way to the east coast. Dr. Mo-rtensen is a brother of Mrs. Crane" Mr. a.nd Mrs. Duane Sampson, of Salt Lake City, spent the week end in Delta with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Sampson. Leamington MABEL HAHDER Sgt. and Mrs. Boyd Harder and small son are home on a fifteen day furlough from Fort Sill, Okla., ' They are visiting relatives and friends here and in Mt. Pleasant. The unit to which Boyd and the other Leamington boys belong has been alerted for overseas duty around the first of November. Mr. and Mrs. Walker Finlinson Neal, Russell, and Mary Jo atten-ded the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City on Sunday. Tbey visited ' with Therein and family in their new home, and other friends. Mr. Al Harder, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Harder drove to Mt. Pleasant Sunday to visit with Boyd and Vir-ginia, and Mr. and Mrs. Scoville. The Boy Scouts were pine-n- ' hunting in Fool Creek Canyon on Sunday afternoon. They also col-- 1 lected specimens to pass off the forestry merit-badg- e. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Finlinson Mr. Jeff Finlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Rich Finlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Wal-ker Finlinson, and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bradfield attended the wed ding reception in Oak City on Sat-urday evening 'tor Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Nielson and girls have moved out to the Keith Nielson farm. They formerly lived in the apartment at W. J. Finlin-son'- s. Owen Nielson, small son of Jack and Zola Nielson, was rushed to the doctor early Friday morning suffering from what was feared to be polio. The child had a sev-ere strep throat and complications, but all were releived to find it nothing more serious. Klee Finlinson, Eva Dutson, Wan da Nielson, and Alta Lovell at-tended the Primary convention held in Fillmore Saturday after-noon. Mrs. Neal Rawlinson, and baby son, and Dale Finlinson spent two days last week visiting their par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Welby Finlin-son. Mr. Bud McCann was the only man lucky enough in Leamington to draw out for the elk hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Nelson vis-ited in Leamington Monday and Tuesday before leaving for Las Vegas on Wednesday to make their home.
