Show Urge 4-H Clubs To Complete Project Books Have our boys and girls received receiv-ed all they have earn -ed in 4-H? Medals are offered on a National and State level to be awarded in the counties of the state and each year some of these medals are unclaimed. Somes boys and girls in the county fill the requirements re-quirements necessary to receive these awards each year but put off getting the record books completed com-pleted in time to send them into the state officials to be judged. Last year boys with dairy, and garden projects that were outstanding outstan-ding were asked to get their record re-cord books upto date and write a story of their projects. All but one boy were too busy to get their books complete in time to receive their award. Poultry, Soil Conservation Conser-vation and farm safety projects have also gone without contestants contest-ants to compete for them, even though some boys have done all that was necessary to receive the awards or medals, according to Lee Rogers, Ass't. Co. Agent. More boys and girls started in Tractor maintenance projects this year than ever before in the history his-tory of the state; in 'fact we have as many in Millard County as there were in the state of Utah in 1950. The problem now is to get these boys and girls to complete their record books and send them in to the county agent. Mr. Rogers asks for parents of children that took the tractor maintenance course to get behind their boys and girls and see that their records are completed complet-ed and sent to the local 4-H leader lea-der or the county offices. In 4-H we learn to do by doing, help your boy to learn to take care of his project by encouraging encourag-ing him to see it to completion. It is time to start thinking of the livestock - show and getting calves. Let's build our boys and build a bigger show at the same time. |
