Show Final Tribute Paid Wednesday to Aged OakCity Mother Mrs. Ann Jane Dutson Roper, 88, an Oak City resident for more than 60 years, died Saturday even lng in Utah Valley hospital. Provo, of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was born in Fillmore, Dec. 7, 1861, a daughter of John W. and Jane Cowley Dutson, early pioneers. She was married to Chas. Roper Dec. 20, 1888, in the Manti temple and the couple made their home in Oak City. Mr. Roper died Feb. 4, 1942. Mrs. Roper was always an active act-ive member in the LDS church, and had served in various positions. posit-ions. She had worked in the Sunday Sun-day school, YWMIA, and was a charter member of Oak City ward Relief Society. She is survived by two sons and three daughters, Leland Roper, Oak City; Merlin D. Roper, Provo; Mrs. Lydia Smith, Beaver, Mrs. Effie Sheriff, Orem, and Mrs. Nell Wilk-ie, Wilk-ie, Provo; 17 grandchildren and 13 great - grandchildren; three brothers, bro-thers, Samuel C. Dutson, Roberts, Ida.; Eddie Q. Dutson, Oak City,; and Caleb Dutson, Leamington, 1 sister, Mrs. Sarah Ann Wiley, Lynndyl. Lynn-dyl. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 1 p. m. in Oak City ward chapel. Bishop Burnis Finlinson, Finlin-son, of Oak City ward, conducted the service that paid tribute to a well-loved member of their community. com-munity. Burial was in the Oak City ceme tery under direction of L. N. Nickle and sons mortuary. |
