Show "Days of the Old West" Rodeo Committee Meets to Plan Annual Events Dates have been set and plans are being made for the annual "Days of the Old West," 2-day celebration in west Millard. Friday and Saturday, August 11 and 12, have been set for the gala event, which will follow the pattern of county and 4-H fairs, programs of local and Imported talent, sports, and the mammoth rodeo each night. The rodeo committee is headed again this year by Ormus L. Dut- son, president, Wayne B. Petersen, Peter-sen, vice president, Cecil Warner, secretary and board of directors, Bud Bassett, Meldon Scow, Cluff Talbot, Rod Shields, Fred Turner, Jerold Bennett, Rawleigh Franklin and Matt Cropper. Rodeo by Skinner The rodeo, with stock and specialty spe-cialty acts, will be furnished by Ray Skinner and Intermountain Rodeo company. They presented the rodeo last year which will be long remembered as fine, fast and furious. Top-notch riders from the intermountain country attended and got well bounced by the rodeo stock, in first class condition. Mr. Skinner is now noted as having the biggest and meanest bucking horses in the world. And to keep events moving hilariously Mr. Skinner has signed up Jack Oakie, well-known Hollywood comedian, as announcer. |
