Show Millard 4-H Clubs Win Many Ribbons At State Fair The 4-H clubs of Millard county did very well at the State Fair this year. The blue ribbon winners were: Second year foods group from Delta led by Cora Harris with the members Beulah Barney, Carol Chamberlain, Thelma Black, Francis Fran-cis Harris, Bonita Johnson, Zolet Prestwich, Barbara Welton and Clarene Willden. Second year foods group from Leamington, led by Louise Lovell and Freda Hansen, with members Barbara Fielding, Margene Finlin-son, Finlin-son, Laretta Overson, Janice Niel-son, Niel-son, Annette Nielson, Bonnie Fielding Field-ing and Janice Hansen. First year clothing group, Delta, led by Shirley Theobald and Lois Kimber with members, Lugene Ca-ho'on, Ca-ho'on, Darlene Fullmer, Deanna Je'ffery, Dorothy Morrison, Linda Mortensen, Janeen Robison, Glen-na Glen-na Snow and Loreen Black. Bonnie Johnson, Sutherland, won a blue ribbon on a wash school dress. Peggy Ann Wright, Barbara Welton and Bonita Johnson, Delta, received blue ribbons in the record re-cord book contest. Sharon Steele, "Delta, also" entered this contest but no record has been received of her rating. Red ribbon winners were: Clothing Two group, Delta, led by Effie Nielson and Janet Stan-worth, Stan-worth, with members Karen Sanderson, Sand-erson, - Chlorene' Callister, Yvonne Church, Rhonda Taylor, Rayola Peterson, Cheryl Kay Pace and Joyce Stanworth. Individual exhibits: Janeen Robison, Rob-ison, De.lta, apron. Ardella Crhist-ensen, Crhist-ensen, Oak. City, dress. Sandra Fin-linson, Fin-linson, Oak City, dress and apron. Cheryl . Greathouse, Lynndyl, slip and dress. Loa Belle Black, Delta, best dress. Carma Taylor, Fillmore, child's dress and panties. Julene Bunker, Sutherland, pressing table and stool. Leu Wanna Bunker, of Sutherland, foot stool. 1 Julene and Leu Wanna were in the style dress revue and modeled wool dresses they had made. Their ratings were, good on every item with Julene receiveng excellent on item of construction. Julene and Leu Wanna also participated par-ticipated in the judging contest held at the fair gounds. About 100 girls took part in this contest. Leu Wanna placed first and received a gold medal and Julene placed se- cond and received a silver medal. The medals were presented at the 4-H award program Monday night, Sept. 18 at the. Silver Gardens in the fair gounds. Congratulations to al these 4-H girls and their leaders. We are proud of their achievement and the achievement of all 4-H club members xin the county. |
