Show Millard County Chronicle I Delta, Ut., Thurs., June 30,1949 Leamington Mrs. Leonard Dutson Mr. Alma Harder and son Dene and family drove to Salt Lake Tuesday to meet his daughter and sister Ranee and baby who will arrive from Daon , Georgia to spend a few weeks with her father and brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Anderson are visiting this week in Murray with some of their children . While there they spent one day at La-goon and enjoyed a nice dinner. Last Sunday, Elwood Dutson and three other young people from Sutherland enjoyed a pleasant day up Provo Canyon. They also visited with Monan Sheriff in Orem. Miss Nola Nielson from Salt Lake has been here visiting with her mother, Mrs. Louis Nielson and oth er relatives. Mrs. Mabel Overson has been visiting in Delta with her daugh-ter, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Overson and family. She has returned home Mr. and Mrs. D. McKellar and Mr. and Mrs. Joe McKellar from Magna have been visiting here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Woodbury from Redland, Cal., visited with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dutson. They came to get their furniture from Lynndyl where they have lived for many years. They are building a new home in Redland. Her sister Mrs. Doris Smith and baby were also visitors. Mrs. Leslie Summers and three children from Pioche Nevada, came Sunday to spend a couple of week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Dutson. A very large crowd attended he wedding dance that was held here last Saturday night for Mr. and Mrs. Oran Nielson. They were mar-ried in Nephi last Saturday. They received many lovely gifts. She was the former Colleen Chase, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Chase from Nephi. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Nielson of Leamington. Some of the people that attended the Hnnpe frnm nut of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Olson from Pay-so- n, the Williams brothers, Lloyd, Charlie and Clayton and wives of Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Walsh and Mr. and Mrs. Dene Dutson, Mr. and Mrs. Agard from Fillmore. A large crowd of relatives from both sides of the family attended. Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson went to Provo last Monday on a busin-ess trip. After spending two weeks here caring for her sick mother, Mrs. Dorthella Soderquist lift for her home in Salt Lake. Her sister Chris from Pioche who came Sunday will care for her for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dutson drove to Salt Lake last Wednes-day on a busines trip and to visit their children. May 14 - -- Little Gerardo Medina and his mother who gave him birth when she was only five years and eight months old, celebrated his 10th birthday today. Medical science was amazed when on May 14, 1939, Dr. Gerardo Losada performed an operation de-livering the son from his mother not much beyond baby hood her-self. Today they are sturdy, healthy children, leading normal, proverty-stricke- n lives like a million others on the West Andean slopes. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Smith and 2 children, from San Francisco, are Delta visitors this week, with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Morten-se- n and Mr: and Mrs. Sherman Lit-tle. Their home as been in Calif., for the past 7 years now. Mrs. Lucile Stephensen has as guests over the weekend her three aunts from Salt Lake, Mrs. Luella Bess, Mrs. Helen Hinckley and Mrs. Ann Clawson, and cousins, Mr. ami Mrs. Melton Bess. Those pre-sent were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mr. and Mrs. Eunis e, from Clear field, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Roper and Mr. and Mrs. Adrain AUdredge, and Mr. and Mrs. Mervin AUdredge and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Alldrege, and families. Mrs. Lorna Lowell entertained a few friends in honor of Mrs. Bruce Lyman of Provo, at her home Wednesday, June 22. Visiting and sewing was done. Mrs. Lyman pla-yed two piano solos. Mrs. Lovell served a delicious plate lunch to those presnet. Last Friday night the teachers quorum enjoyed a weinie roast in the canyon. Miss Verona Christenson is at Brigham City where she has em-ployment. Mr. and Mrs. Basis Talbot visit-ed in Benjamin Saturday and Sun-day. Salt Lake visitors this week was Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Anderson and family. Bishop and Mrs. Burnis Finlinson and family attended a reunion at Provo Sunday. Mrs. Finlinson re-mained for a visit for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Elder at-tended a reunion at Springville Sunday. Mrs. Mabel Schick and her fri-end' from Santa Rosa, Cal., are visiting in Oak City, her daughters Helen and LaVelle will return to Cal., with her. Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Harris and daughters from Beaver came to at-tend the wedding dance of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Harris Saturday evening. The dance was well at-tended a good program rendered with Wm. Gardner master of Cere-monies. Many presnts were shower ed on the newly weds, They will make their home at Provo. Their many friends wish them much hap piness. Miss Phyliss Pace is visiting in Oak City with her sisters. Miss Janice Olson from Provo is in Oak City visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Coleman and children from Provo are n Oak City visiting. SUTIIEItlVND . . . Mr. and Mrs. Peterson Johnson & Mrs. Effie of Los Angeles, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson left Mon-day for a vacation. They will drive to Canada thru the north-west. They wil be gone about two weeks. The younger children of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson will be guests of their aunt in Delta. Mrs. Layton Bishop and Merril will keep the home fires burning. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Price of Cedar City visited from Saturday to Tues-day at the Thornton home. On Tuesday Mrs. Thornton and May returned to Cedar City with them for an extended visit. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foote and Marjorie Needham left last week for a trip thru the middle west. While gone they will visit Mrs. Foote's sister, Mrs. Mary Isles, who lived here in Sutherland for many years. Mr. and Mrs. I. Tippetts of Hur-ricane, are here for a visit with their children. They are both look-ing well and enjoy being back a- - mong their friends. Miss Kay Johnson enjoyed a nice birthday party last Wednesday, June 21. Mrs. Maxine Jackson Owens is home for a few days. Then she will return later to enter the hospital for an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jensen en-tertained at open house Saturday evening in honor of their daughter Marian and husband, Mr. Wesley who were recently married. The young couple now reside in Cedar City. Last Thursday, Mrs. Zelda Ogden entertained the " As You Like it" club. At the Sunday evening services Arlo Steele, Pat S. arney and Amon Johnson were speakers with the youth furnishing the music. The square dancing group went over to Hinckley Monday night for the activity. John Walker is visiting in Los Angeles over the week nd. That was a nice write up of the M. J. Moodys in the Utah Farmer, this week. And our Lavell Robters' husband being a nationally recon- - ford finally getting the plaster torn out between her front room and dinning room. And Bearnard excavating to begin building a new home. All these things place us promiently in the news. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jackson went to Salt Lake Wednesday. Garrison Mrs. Blanche Yersin Ben Hillman and Joseph S. Ber-gi- n, state aeronautics director of Salt Lake City,, were business vis-itors at Garrison this week. Earl Yersin and Alex Doutre are making good progress on the US FS drift fence in the Snake creek area. George E. Smith of Tremonton, Utah, was a weekend visitor at the Grant Smith home in Baker. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Young and T. K. Young of Burbank, left for Bloomington, Idaho, to attend the George S. Young family reunion. Miss Doris Rae Koger, fiancees of Merlin H. Workman, and hei parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul C. Rog-er, of Baytown, Texas, arrived in Delta last week: They are guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Workman. Joe Uranius sold his farm at Sugarville this week, and will go to Mexico soon. Mr. and Mrs. Max Hannifin were Salt Lake visitors the first part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Schlappi and father, H. J.
