Wes De Ford will spend Thanks-- with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Alien. Wallace Allen came home Friday and will be working in Provo this winter. Mrs. Don James and children went to Salt Lake City Tuesday and will go to Eeaver on the train and visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cox. Her sister, Mrs. Donna the evening. Thelma Clark spent Monday and Tuesday in American Fork attend- - ing a beauty school. She soon will sell and demonstrate cosmetics. Charley Smith returned from Los Angeles Friday after being there three weeks working. Mr. and Mrs. Don Williams stop- - King, has a new baby boy born Monday, November 14. Mrs. James received a telephone call from her husband, Don, and he luis a house for the family, so they will soon be mov'ng there. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Jack, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Allen and Mr. and Mrs. George Grodfrey went to American Fork and spent the day. On Thursday evening the Ladies Eagle Lodge entertained at a pot-luc- k supper at Provo in the lodge auditorium. A delicious luncheon was served by Norma Majei'3, Mar-ie James and Thelma Clark. Baked beans, sandwiches, salad, potato chips, pickles olives, cake, and coffee were served. Mrs. Effie Allen, Kay Aitkins, Norma Majers, Marie James, Thelma Clark Rachel Simpson and Beryl Crume were some of the many who enjoyed Mrs. Rachel Simpson The beauty of the house is ord-er; the blessing of the hause is contentment; the glory of the house is hospitality; the crown of the house is Godliness. Selected Mrs. Effie Allen, Mrs. Frank and George Godfrey of Provo went to Salt Lake City Tuesday to take Mrs. Godfrey's sister, Miss Johanna Gier, who is visiting here from Scotland and Mrs. Barbara Wach of Cheyenne, Wyoming. This is the first time Miss Gier has been in the United States and is thrilled with our way of living. They are allowed one egg a week and Vz pound of sugar and no sweets of any kind in Scotland. They took her to many places of interest and attended the ceremonies of the lighting of "This is the Place" mon ument. Governor J. Bracken Lee and President George Albert Smith of the Latter - day Saint church, threw the switches. Mahonri M. Young, sculptor of the monument was also there. Monday Mrs. Marie James spent the day in Salt Lake City. Tuesday Harry Wilkie returned to Provo from Milford where he has been working. Wednesday Mrs. Thelma Clark and Mrs. Marie James went to Salt Lake and visited Mrs. Mary Coon. ! Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Effie Al-len entertained at luncheon for her two nieces, Johanna Gier and Bar bara Walch and Mrs. Frank God-frey, Mrs. George Godfrey and her daughter, Mary Coon. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Mel Majers, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Crume and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Simpson spent the day in American Fork. Wednesday evening Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilkie, son Ladd, Mr. and Mrs. Myrlen Roper and son, spent a pleasant evening visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sheriff. Miss Nadine Sheriff drove to Provo from Salt Lake City and spent the weekend with her par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sheriff. Mrs. Sheriff has been quite ill. She will soon have an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Jack of Ely, Nevada, arrived in Provo Saturday to spend Thanksgiving here with her sister, Miss Johan Gier of Scot-land, who is visiting here.
