Show R. S. Conference In Deseret Is Well Attended The Deseret ward Relief Society conference, held Sunday evening was especially well attended. All visiting teachers were present except ex-cept two, of whom one was ill and the other out of town. The theme was taken from Romans 1:16, and the objective was to show the sustaining sus-taining power of the Gospel in the lives of Latter-day Saints. The program opened with prelude pre-lude music by Winona Dutson, and a song by the congregation, "There is Sunshine in My Soul Today." Hattie Cahoon gave the opening prayer. Pres. Myrle C. Ben nett gave greetings and the report followed by sustaining of officers by Inez Damron. The music for the program was under the direction of Winona Dut son, organist and Mary Black, the chorister. A special number was sung by Deseret Relief Society Singing Mothers, "Our Father In Heaven, Thy Praises We Sing." Later they sang "A Song of Triumph." Tri-umph." Talks were given by Arlene Bennett, Ben-nett, "The Gospel in Our Lives," Ethel Western, "How to Gain and Retain a Testimony," and "My Testimony," by Nola Warner. Mrs. Eleanor Nielson of Lynndyl, stake visitor spoke. Closing the conference was a song by the congregation, "The Lord is My Light," and benediction by Myrtle Western. |
