Show Former Resident Dies at Ruth David William Cook, a Delta resident resi-dent for more than 20 years, died Tuesday at Ruth, Nevada, following an limess ol twelve hours. He was born April 19,1890, a son of Joshua and Betsy Cook, in Wayne county. The family came to Delta in 1909, among the early settlers, and Will farmed and work ed here as a young man. He married mar-ried Jennie Gray, of Delta, and they made their home here. About 20 years ago they moved to Ruth, where Will was employed urtfil his final illness. Surviving are his widow at Ruth, and four children, Afton, Blake, Marjie and John. Blake is in the navy at Honolulu. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. Nora Chappie, Wayne county; Mrs. Francetta Sampson, Mrs. Geneva Pace and Mrs. Ardella Riding, Delta; Mrs. Olive Miller, Heber and Jerome Cook, Spring-ville; Spring-ville; Mrs. Lucine Jenkins, Spanish Fork; and Mrs. Florence Workman, Salt Lake City. Funeral services and arrangements arrange-ments for burial will be announced later. Miss Louetta Sampson from the U ofU, is spending three weeks in Delta doing her student teaching in the home economics department at Delta high school. |
