Show Music Festival For Region Six Held Saturday The annual region six music festival was held all Saturday in Fillmore, with 1600 students attending. at-tending. Millard high school was host to the 16 schools represented, with events for band, orchestra and chorus, beginning at 9 a. m. and closing with an open air dance that night. The day's highlight was a two- hour parade of 16 marching bands at 4 p.m. Top ratings were given by the judges to Fillmore junior high school and Millard high school bands; Hinckley, boys' chorus and mixed chorus. Superior rating went to Delta high school band and chorus. The DHS band had a good audience reaction for their marching march-ing and rated one of the higest in ing and rated one of the highest in feature. For the sight reading, band mem bers are given music for a march and overture that they have never seen bfore. They have one minute to study it, the director, two. After one minute to talk it over, they play the numbers. In addition to west Millard students stu-dents at the festival, twelve ladies from Delta, Sutherland and Hinckley Hinck-ley hot lunch rooms helped all day preparing the 1600 sack lunches that were given out. Millard high school thanks them for this service, ser-vice, and the Delta high and the Hinckley high for their participation. |
