Show Local Singers Are Part of BAC "Messiah" Chorus 18 students from Delta and Hinckley Hin-ckley are part of the 200 voice chorus that will present. Handel's "Messiah" Dec. 18 in the Cedar City Third ward chapel, announced announc-ed W. H. Manning, director of the oratorio. Singing in this annual affair for the first time will be the well known Cedar City Master Singers and Canzena Chorus, which was or ganized last year by Professor Man ning. These two groups are combining com-bining with the 100 voice chorus from the BAC to make possible the organizing of such a large chor al group. Working with the chorus is a 50 piece orchestra under the direct ion of Professor R. L. Halverson. This is one of the finest orchestras orchest-ras ever developed at the BAC and it boasts the largest string sec Hon in the history of the college. Prof. Manning will direct this performance and has directed all presentations of the "Messiah" in Cedar City since 1924. He stated that with two more rehearsals of combined groups should put the finishing touches on a letter perfect per-fect performance. This will be the 26th performance perform-ance to be presented in Cedar City. Delta students particapating are Rayda Bishop, Dorothy R. Bishop, Norma Deem, Verdene Finlinson, La Mae Finlinson, Eugene Holman, Dorothy Jeffery, Norma. Kimber, Le Ray McAllister, Carmen Rose, Le Roy Skidmore, Aldeen Skidmore, Joyce Terry and Zoe Porter. Hinckley students include James Bishop, Joy Stewart, Lamar Terry, and Wilmer Woodbury. |
