Show DHS Follies Is Gala Spectacle And Musicafe The Delta high school music department presented their annual Follies to audiences last Thursday Thurs-day and Friday nights, winning hearty applause at both performances. perform-ances. Opening with the prologue, "The Unknown Soldier" spoke, pleading ple-ading for "One World", with peace. With this theme, the following iacts presented songs and dances from 24 countries around the world. - The production was soley the work of the students. Staging, costumes, scenery, songs and dances dan-ces represented their choice and work. Fred Adams wrote the script and directed the Follies, assisted by Tharla Larson and Sharon Rob-ison. Rob-ison. Assisting also on costumes, scenery, dancing, maintenance, lighting, li-ghting, programs, andso on, were another twenty students. Laural Anderson was the accompanist accom-panist and arranger of the entire production, and a featured act was her original composition, "Study in C Minor", specially prepared for the Poland sequence of the Follies. C. E. Christensen was faculty advisor ad-visor for the troupe' and Miss Ruth Hansen was technical advisor. In the performance, it would be difficult to choose which was best. Each act was colorful and pleasing, pleas-ing, and a surprising amount of talent was revealed among the vocal soloists, and dancers. The finale was a fitting climax, with the entire cast on the stage, and the flags of each nation that had been portrayed in the show carried carri-ed on by a member of the cast. |
