Show -imCfOLEY Harriett Spendlove Tuesday afternoon a party was , leld for the retiring president of ' the Y. W. M. I. A Bertha Love. Mrs Love has been replaced by Mrs. Angie Pratt. The officers and teachers of the YWMIA presented to Mrs. Love a gift of appreciation for the services she has rendered while in office as president. Those present included. Angie Pratt, Roma Ro-ma Ekins, Ruth Talbot, Elaine Hardy, Julia Bliss, Dorothy Theobald, Theo-bald, Jackie Black, Belva Morris, Arvilla Workman, Lorna Buchanan, Reva Talbot, Phyllis Bennett, Thora Petersen, Lois Wilson and the guest of honor, Bertha Love. Mr. Goldwin Cluff Jr., was married mar-ried to Mrs. Aleith Brunson, a sister sis-ter to Mrs. Lynn Talbot, on Saturday, Sat-urday, June 5 at Ely, Nevada. A trousseau tea was held in Meadow Mead-ow on Friday, June 11 for the bride. Those from Hinckley who attended attend-ed were Phyllis Bennett, Reva, Minnie and Ruth Talbot. The new-lyweds new-lyweds have purchased the vacant va-cant home across the road from Grant Hardy, which was formerly owned by Stewarts, and they plan to remodel and move into rtheir home in the near future. , Mrs. Valeda Hilton entertained the Rook Club on Thursday, with the following members present: Ar- tne lonowing members present: Arvilla Ar-villa Swensen, Helen Shurtliff, Roma Ro-ma Ekins, Angie Pratt, Manon Rob-ison, Rob-ison, Ruth Robinson, Dolpha Bishop, Bish-op, Nina Mecham, Ruth' Talbot, May Cropper, Bertha Love, Belva Morris, Thora Petersen and Lois Wilson and the following guests: Sebrina Ekins, Lorna Buhanan, Erma Cropper, Harriet Spendlove, Joy Hurst and Elaine Hardy. First prize was won bv Arvilla Swensen. second by Roma Ekins, with Harriet Har-riet Spendlove winning the guest prize and Nina Mecham consolation consola-tion Norma Chaff in, who has been attending school at the L. D. S. Business College, is now working for a transfer company, doing secretarial sec-retarial work. She and Gloria Stewart from Oasis room together at the Bee Hive House.' Both Dee and Boyd Wright have employment in Provo for the summer, sum-mer, where they are working to be able to continue with their school work next fall. Mr. and Mrs. Verdell Bishop spent a few days in Salt Lake City last week, going up to attend the graduation exercises of the LDS hospital, from which his sister was graduated as a nurse. Mr. and Mrs.' Walter Ekins and two sons, Leo and Duane, left Wednesday to go to Cedar City on business and to visit Mrs. Ekins' mother, Mrs. Higbee. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Humphries have as their guest their daughter, Ver-da Ver-da Steffens of Springville and her two children, Jacqueline and Ross. They will be here throughout the week. Mr. Steffens is working this week in Kanosh. Mr. LaVar Humphries, who has been living in Los Angeles for several sev-eral years, has been transferred to Salt Lake City. He is foreman in a steel factory where tools are made. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Hilton visited visit-ed at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hilton on Tuesday. Tues-day. Their small daughter, Opal Marie, accompanied them. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hilton and son, of Pleasant Grove, visited here last week with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton and Mr and Mrs. A. L. Ekins. Mrs. May Pratt entertained the Fine Arts Club at her home on Friday, Fri-day, May 11.
