Show Alfalfa Seed Insect Control Don't be too late in dusting second sec-ond crop alfalfa to be left for seed for Lygus Bug Control. Populations are increasing rapidly and when the bugs are sufficient in number they can in from 1 to 5 days cause blasted buds. Inasmuch as the loss of the first buds may be sufficient to delay the maturing of the seed until it is hit by an early frost, it is extremely important that the first buds are saved. 20 pounds of 10 percent DDT per acre is recommended rec-ommended for best and longer results re-sults of control. Remember that it is best to dust a little too early than a little too late. For help or advise call Dorald Allred Entomologist Entomol-ogist at the Millard County Offices. |
