Show I HINCKLEY .. Mrs. Harriet Spendlove Wednesday, August 18 at 7:00 p. m. the Primary held their Fall Festival in the Hinckley ward chapel. cha-pel. This festival climaxes the summer's activities and the various vari-ous nations and islands were represented re-presented by song, dance, and demonstration. de-monstration. The work for the summer has been for the different classes in Primary to study the various nations as the missionaries have gone to them to spread the gospel, hence the classes were in costmue and gave information on these places. Monday night the Advanced Senior Se-nior class of the Sunday School enjoyed a party at the reservoir with their instructor, Dick Shurt-liff Shurt-liff supervising the group. Friday, August 27 a special meet ing of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Pio-neers has been announced by the president, LaVerne Theobald. This meeting will be held at 4:00 p. m. at the home of Esther Swensen and will be held on the lawn. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting, whether they are members mem-bers of this group or not. They are anxious for a good attendace at this meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Speelman of Terreton, Idaho, visited this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Abbott of Sutherland and with Mrs. Byron Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Stewart of Hinckley. Mrs. Sebrina Robinson returned this week after having spent a week with her daughter, Melba Jackson in Provo, who had recently recent-ly returned from the hospital with her small daughter, who was born on August 2. Little Skipper Jackson Jack-son has spent the previous week here with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Robinson. Mrs. Leona Maxfield Pratt is visiting vis-iting this week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Maxfield. She will visit in Salt Lake also before returning to her home in California. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Warnick recently spent a week in Salt Lake City visiting. They now have with them their son, Calvin War-nick War-nick from "Moscow, Idaho. He will return soon to assume his duties as a teacher at the University of Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hilton took their daughter, Lula, to Spanish Fork for a tonsilectomy Monday. Lee Burgess Pratt brought his mother, May Pratt and sister, Patricia Pa-tricia from Prqvo last Saturday and spent Sunday with the family. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Nielson are visitnig this week with Mrs. Nielson's mother, Mrs. Mary Lee and with Mr. Nielsons brother,' Lafe. Mrs. Lee and Marion Jepson returned re-turned last week from a trip to Indianapolis, Indianna. Mr. and Mrs. John Marlow Nielson Niel-son visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Nielson. Mrs. Cyril Nielson visited from Friday until Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Carter. She is now at the home .of her daugh- ter, ern saKer, 01 rne iiorui iraci. Mrs. Nielsons home is in Cambridge, Cam-bridge, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Carter are spending this week at the home of their- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Carter. Raywond's wife is the former Maxine Thompson of Vernal. They live at Vernal and Raymond is employed at Rangely, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Kennard Carter of Kanosh and Rex and Jeff Carter who are working on the roads near there have returned home to visit this week with Raymond and his wife. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Sly returned return-ed home Tuesday after a nine-day motor trip through California. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Finlinson Finlin-son are spending the next two weeks in California at Garberville where Raymond is a representative of the Red Cross and is attending aquatic school. Mr. and Mrs. Wililam Stapley and their son, Marden, are touring through the eastern and southern states. I Mrs. John Ed Wright was visited Tuesday by her son, Floyd Hastings, Hast-ings, and by her great-grandson from Baltimore, Maryland. Mrs. Wright received Monday a birthday birth-day announcement of her tenth great-grandchild. Mrs. Helen Cox of Salt Lake City is visiting this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oren Bliss. Mr. and Mrs. Don Carlyle of Clearfield spent five days of last week visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Theobald. Their two children were with them. Mrs. Carlyle is the former Wyla Theobald. Theo-bald. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton of the birth of a fourth son to Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Bennett of American Fork. Mrs. Beth Ross of McGill, Nevada, Neva-da, is spending this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton. Last week Mr. and Mrs. George Johns and children of Richland, Washington, returned to their home after visiting a week at the home of Mrs. Johns parent's, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton. Mrs. Johns is the former Ardith Hilton. Last week Mrs. Ora Hansen and Mrs. Loa Hansen of Fillmore were guests of their sister, Chloe Hilton. Last Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Byron By-ron Carter motored to Provo and spent the day in Provo canyon. Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Carter had as a visitor in their home, Mrs. Carrie Townsend of Los Angeles. Monday afternoon Chester and Esther Knight returned to Hinckley Hinck-ley after visiting in Clearfield with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sam-uel Knight. Mr. Knight is employed employ-ed in Clearfield. Those from Hinckley who went to the Logan and Idaho Falls temples tem-ples on the bus were: Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton, Mr. and Mrs. Aroet Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Don Bishop j and Mrs. Hyrum Adams. I Mr. and Mrs. Don Bishop spent Wednesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Bishop in Smith field. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Spendlove and two children of Ogden are visiting the fore part of this week ' with his mother, Mrs. Emma Spend love.. Last week Mrs. Alice Bliss entertained en-tertained the Fine Arts club at her home. Club members present were Angie Cahoon, Mary Reeve, Nora Bishop, Clo Hilton, LaVerne Theobald Theo-bald and May Pratt. Bessie Hardy and Wynnie Wright were guests. Mrs. Roma Ekins entertained the Literary club at her home last Thursday. Belva Morris gave several sev-eral articles of interest and gave an unusual short story. Last Sunday night the program at the Hinckley ward was given by the High Priests. Hugh Hilton took charge and talks were given by Carl Theobald, Wallace Woodbury Wood-bury and Principal Douglas Allred. The Seventies quartet sang two numbers and Ruth Talbot gave an organ instrumental. j Next Sunday evening the grils' committee under the direction of Alice Bliss has the program in charge. The girls will dramatize "Why Mormon Girls Are Different." |
