Show Pioneer Abraham Mother Dies (Off Lingering Illness I Mrs. Jessie Mae Reid, 77, died Saturday at 10:10 a. m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Fern : Foote, of a lingering illness. i I She was the wife of the late I Alexander William Reid, and they I were among the early settlers at Abraham, moving there in 1910. I They were originally from Okla-Ihoma, Okla-Ihoma, and had lived in Idaho a i short time before settling here. Mr. Reid engaged in farming and 1 stock raising. He died in 1920. Mrs. Reid was born at Turley Town, Virginia, May 6, 1871, a daughter of Ferron D. and Fannie Kildow. She was a member. of the Methodist church. i Her life had been an active one, ' until the last year, when her health began to fail. She had spent much time visiting her children in California, but held I that Delta was her home, and had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Fern Foote for the past few years. Her character was composed of the highest qualities and her friendship friend-ship was enjoyed by many. Surviving are these children: Dalton M. Reid, Hyrum, Utah; Mrs. Mary Fuchs, Midvale, Utah; Al-berty Al-berty Reid, Jack Reid, Abraham; I Mrs. Fern Foote, Delta, Victor Reid 'Encinitas, California; Kent Reid, Cardiff, California; Mrs. Gladlce McCoy, Downey, California. Andl2 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild: two sisters, Mrs. Nannie S. Smith, Iowa Pai-tk, Texas; Mrs. Elsie El-sie Smith, Texas, and one brother, Pickett G. Kildow, Iowa Park. Tex. Funeral services were held in the Delta Community church on Tuesday at 2 p. m., Rev. Bollinger officiating. Burial was in the Delta Del-ta cemetery under direction of L. N. Nickle and Sons Mortuary. |
