The school children in Bing-hsm Bing-hsm staged a "book gathering week," and collected 1,200 volumes, bringing the total of Bingham's public library over the 3,000 mark . The new library is located in the city hall, a modern building, and the city will levy a municipal tax for its support and Improvement. The women's wo-men's civic club is Interested in the welfare of the books, and Boy Scouts are enlisted to watch delinquents and call when books are kept unduly long. Miss Downey is back after spending several days in Bingham. ' She is enthusiastic en-thusiastic over the library there, and is collecting surplus war books for for them here. Thursday Miss Downey Down-ey spent at American Fork, conferring regarding the 'new library there, which is going well. Friday she visited Provo. Pro-vo. Children there are staging a "Book collection week," beginning the coming Friday. Indications point to the collection of 25,000 volumes. Reports from the new Kaysville library li-brary show a fine start, there being now 1,300 new books, to which Miss Downey will add from the war books. |
