Show LARGE FLAG IS FLUNG TO THE BREEZE Akron, Ohio, May 30. The raising rais-ing of an American flag, 50x76 feet, the largest ever flown in the state of Ohio, and which had been purchased by the 18,000 employes of the B. F. Goodrich Rubber company, Akron, Ohio, formed the nucleus for the biggest big-gest patriotic demonstration which has erer been seen in these parts since the Clrll war. The flag was raised last Sunday on the Goodrich athletic field, and was Intended primarily for a patriotic patri-otic demonstration on the part, of the Goodrich organization, but seconded by Mayor Laub, the citizens of Akron insisted on the privilege of participating partici-pating with the Goodrich employes to make tho flag raising a hugo civic demonstration of loyalty. In a special proclamation to tho citizens of Akron, in which he asked every one to participate, Mayor Laub said, "Let this be a demonstration by ' tho people, of tho people and for tho stimulating effect that it will hare upon tho entire nation." |
