UIEWS On Friday, during tho student body danco at tho Brlgham Young collcgo, Coach Knapp and the athletic ath-letic committee will make tho awards for tho athletic contest work for tho year. The committee feel that never beforo has thero been a bettor year of athletic events. Tho work, especially since spring, has boon unusually Interesting and helpful help-ful because of tho detiiocratlt"form it has taken. Almo3t all of the ovonts have been In group, taking In all the members and making an average aver-age for tho class. The awards are as follows: ' Basketball sweaters Berntson, Neeley, Haws, Barlow, Maughan, Hyer, Edwards, McBrlde. ,'' Cross-country awards' Jacques, 1st place, sweater; D. Alleei 2nd place, silver medal, McBrlde, 3rd place, bronze medal. Orvlllo Nelson will be awarded a gold medal for being the best all all-around athlete in the Brlgham Young college. Out of the possible 5000 points, Nelson scored 3657 points. J. Maughan made Bocond place with a score of 3514 points. Fuhrlman made third placo with a score of 3236 points. Knowles mado fourth place with a score of 3236 points. The time of the awards Is set at 10 p. m. Friday In the Brlgham Young College gymnasium. a |
