Show ELDER SORENSON RETURNS HOME FROMJIISSION Mendon, March 28. Elder H. C. Sorenson returned home from the mission field Saturday evening In good health nnd spirits. Elder Sorenson Sor-enson says he Is glad to be at home again after spending 27 months In tho central states mission. Most of his work wa3 In the state of Missouri where ho met with great success and gained many friends. Elder Sorenson Soren-son visited our Sunday School Sunday Sun-day and spoke a short time, ho was also called upon to speak at the afternoon after-noon session of our ward conference. We nro glad to welcome Bro. Sorenson Sor-enson home and hope he will bo able to endure for a short time a climate wo havo been required to stand for flvo months. Sunday was our annual ward conference con-ference ono session was held at two p. m.. We wero favored with the presence of Pres. Wm. H. Maughan, his daughter (Miss Barbara) and a member of tho Stako High Council Sister Maughan gavo us two splendid splend-id talks she has lately returned from tho North Western S tates mission. Bishop Bird made his report of our ward which showed our population to be 428 souls a decrease of 10 from 1915. There was an Increase in tho payment of our tlths and offerings. A decreaso In tho attendance of sacrament meeting. In temple work thero has been a groat Increase. In general our ward Is In good condition. condi-tion. Tho motlng Sunday evening was occupied by tho Sunday School. Tho following program was rendered. Missionary Experiences, Eldor II. C. Soronson. Girls Chorus. Vocal Solo, Lucille. Hardman. A number of the friends of Miss Hazol Mulr tendered her with a bundle bund-le shower on Saturday evening. Miss Mulr received many useful presents and all present roport a good tlmo. On Thursday night thero will bo a basketball game between Wellsvlllo and Mondon, also a dauco after tho gamo. Miss Orpha Larsen Is visiting in Garland and Malad. Mrs. James Georgo of Malad Is visiting with Mrs. Peter Larson, Jr. Mr. George Lommon has boon seriously seri-ously 111 for a few days, but at present pres-ent sho Is much Improved, Tho O. L. & I. Ry. company havo had troublo with tho snow along their Mine during tho past week. Cars wera delayed for several hours on account of the heavy drifts between Wellsvlllo Wells-vlllo and Mendon. If talktng about the weather would remedy tho trouble, we would soon havo a change for the better. We are, however, at this date. In tho grip of a severe winter, with feed becoming becom-ing more scarce each day and a very poor outlook for more. This wlntor has been a "hummer," and will long bo remembered by all Cache valley residents. Bare ground, grass, leaves and blossoms will look mighty good to all of us when spring comes, and will make us all better natured. |
