Show W. H. BLOOD TAKES DEGREE IN MEDICINE At the commencement exercises, held yesterday at tho Columbia university, uni-versity, Wllkle H. Blood, former manager of Tho Logan Republican, received from the college of physicians physi-cians and surgeons, the degree, Doctor Doc-tor of Medicine. A Utah boy, bom In Kaysvlllc, Mr. Blood entered school at tho Brlghain Young college following his completion of the district dis-trict school courses and from that Institution In-stitution he received his degree In 1909. Two years following graduation, gradu-ation, Mr. Blood was on tho B. Y. collogo faculty previous to entering tho newspaper Mold. Columbia university, where he graduated' grad-uated' wjth high honors. On merit of school work, he has been offered Appointment In four hospitals without apeclaV examinations. He will Join the house staff of the Presbyterian hospital and begin service July 1 In the babies' ward of that Institution. Dr. Blood's aim is to become a baby specialist. During tho past two years he has been paylngpccial attention to diseases of children. Ho has done special work In the children's child-ren's wards at the German hospital and nursery of Chllds hospital. During Dur-ing tho summer months of 1916 he spent his time at Babies hospital, whore he had personal charge of hundreds of feeding cano3. Mrs. Blood and daughter will remain re-main In New York with Dr. Blood during the summer, thoir address being be-ing 1939 Daly avenue. New York. They do not know when they will return re-turn to Utah. |
