Show "ROSE OP THE WORLD" AT THE LYRIC THKATKIt A vivid reminder of our own soldier sol-dier boys In Prance is given in "Rose Of The World," the Artcraft picture 'at the Lyric Theater today, In which Elsie Ferguson plays the part of Rosamond, Ro-samond, the wife of Captain Harry English. The captain loses his lire in nn heroic manner, on the field of battle. bat-tle. His widow marrler Sir Arthur Qerardine, an elderly and conceited snob. Her life with Sir Arthur proves' unhappy, and her love for her first husband grows stronger ev ery day. Matters are brought to a crisis when nt an elaborate dinner the contrast of the sumptuous menu with the suffering of Captain Hurry from hunger and thirst while battling bat-tling for hlj life so affects her that she deliberately leaves the table. Sir Arthur follows her to her room, and the overwrought woman breaks down in a scene of wild hysteria. The photoplay is adapted from the story by Agnes and Edgerton Castle and la an absorbing tale of India. Maurice Tourneur, well known as a producer, directed the picture for Artcraft. |
