Logan was the first city In this part of the country to realize and adopt this most practical schemo and the Interest of tho people Is proved by the cordial manner In which they have given it tholr support. sup-port. Tho inquiries coming In from othor parts of tho state lead one to bellevo that before long tho War Chest will also bo adopted by many other Utah communities. The third liberty liber-ty loan drlvo was very successfully and equitably handled, and tho ward organization of trusted and representative represen-tative citizens Is ready to assist Logan Lo-gan to do her bit In meeting all calls from tho government. In preparing for the War Chest drive the central committee of the City Council of Defense made an exhaustive study of the system and of the calls to which Logan would be subject. Special mention Bhould be' made of the most faithful work of the Boy Scouts who delivered tho dodgers dodg-ers to every home for ten successive success-ive days. The assistance of a number num-ber of young ladies of Logan In attending at-tending the big chest on Main street, was very Important also. The Idea was readily received by the citizens and as a result nearly every ward exceeded its quota. The generosity of the response Is proved by the fact that the commltteo had to take up a labor with only a very few reluctant givers and inonly two checks and possibly three, will be returned as totally Inadequate and unacceptable. Corporations and business houses were asked for relatively small amounts, as their owners gave In most cases very cordially as Individuals Individ-uals and this was planned to be primarily pri-marily a popular subscription.
