Show CLARKSTON - JLIPPINGS Clarkston, Sept. 8. Our community commun-ity has been somewhat excited over tho death of little Gladys Harris. Sho was sick and ailing for tvo or three days when on Sunday night sho became very ill and on Monday morning Dr. Adamson was summoned summon-ed and he pronounced 'It & bad case of diphtheria. The child died that night at seven o'clock. The little 8 year old girl was one of the unfor tunate ones. She has been left nil alono in' the world without n mother an Invalid father, tho mother died about- flve years ago at j Xoutat lllo, idaho,' leaving six small chlldien. They 'have a grandmothor Mr,. I Barns laying at High Creek, Richmond Rich-mond . TCHe children have nil been riporatedi Mr. end Mrs. John B. Jardlne 'took this little girl, gave hci "a good home and did all thnt they could-, 1 8he was a very lovable and kind dlspoBlUoned child, Bweet little linger and very bright in school. She will be greatly missed, moro especially es-pecially .by tho Jardlno family. Everything Ev-erything ,1s being done that Is "possible "possi-ble to prevent the spread of this dreaded disease, . Tho latter part of tho week there was a. party of about forty-two In number went for an outing In the canyon ' between Clarkston and tffe Malad Valley. Tho party consisted of Mr. and Mrs, Frank Griffiths and family; Mr. and Mrs. John P. Clarkston Clark-ston and family; Mr. and Mrs. James Clark and family; Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Hy-rum Barson and family; Mr. and Mrs. John A. Thompson and family; fam-ily; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith and family; Miss Burgtn of Garland; Miss 'Florence Malmberg, Miss Alice Athay, and a string band, danced by bon fires, lots of feasting, and all had a very enjoyable time. It makes them wish for tho time wlien they can go again. Mrs. Eliza Godfrey is able to ho out nnd around ngaln after a long lingering illness of typhoid fever, that being tho only case we had this year. Our electric line is nearly completed. |
