He said: "Six cars ago the democrats of this state had control of the legislature, the name of A. W. McCune was up for senator. It Is well dnown to all that this party of incompetency would not unite In electing Mr. McCune or any other democrat, thus leaving the state two) ears without the repiescnlatlon of this ofllcc. If the democrats had united on McCune or some other man, Thomas Keains would have not been known today as a disturbing element In the state and the democrats arc responsible for the organization of the new paity In this state whether it brings weal or woe to Its citizens from a political or religious view, and it Is also questionable whether or not the name of Reed S.noot would have been known in a senatorial capacity." The ideas of this gentleman arc worthy of note, for those who are acquainted ac-quainted with past history know that It was an exhibition of party disloyalty disloyal-ty by those who weie Instrumental In blocking the election of a senator. The democrats not only brought odium and censure upon their own heads as a party but wrought a gross Injustice upon the hody politic of tho state of Utah. These facts should bo remembered at the coming election. Never again elect representatives to the legislature who are likely to prove recreant to the trust Imposed Inthcin.
