There can be no mistaking the fact that a largo portion of tho community Is considerably wrought up over the action of tho government In closing the postofllce at Indianola, Miss. The partial paralysis to business is being felt more and more. A private offlco haB been established for tho distribution distribu-tion of mall collected by an Independent Independ-ent messenger scrvlco from Heath-raann Heath-raann and Greenville. Both of theso postofflccs are being congested with, mall as Tho result of the closing of this office. The Independent ofllce at Indianola In-dianola will bo maintained at the expense ex-pense of tho citizens. Senator Mcl.aurln of Mississippi has conferred with Postmaster General Payne on the situation at Indianola, where the postofllce has been closod as a result of antagonism to tho negro postmaster. Senator McLuurln stated that ho bollevod tho offlco would be reopened re-opened this week. Mr. Payne said that tho office will be reopened If there Is no Intimidation of the postmaster. |
