He began to find that the obligation was both unnecessary un-necessary and terribly expensive, but the landlord Insisted upon tho strict letter of the bond being adhered to. So the- tenant called lr a painter nnd had the whole front of the house painted paint-ed white, with hugo black, yellow nnd red spots upon It In a weird pattern. Tho landlord, who lived next door, protested, but the tenant showed that ho was within his right, and the two soon came to terms. In tho other case 1 tenant advertised adver-tised In the local papers and otherwise, other-wise, as follows: "Wanted, 10,000 cockroaches nnd other Insects by a tenant who agreed to leave his present pres-ent residence In the same condition as It was when ho took it." And he gave the actual address, too. |
