Show Rules of Contest The Republican estimating contest ended jcstciday at noon and all that now remains Is for the Judges to count the woids on this page, look over the estimates and awaid the prizes. 1'iof. L. A. Ostien of the A.C.of II., and Mr. W. II. Thaln will act as judges and will be governed by the following rules: Every woid on the page is counted, inclusive of heading, date line, et cct. Each Initial and abbreviation of any kind counts as one woid. Each single ilguie or gioup of llg-uics llg-uics counts as one woid. Words divided at end of line count for but one word. The single letters, a and I, count as a woid wherever used. Every single letter, single Ilguie, group of figures and gioup of letteis anything between which is white spaco is counted as one word. First pii.c will be aw aided to the peison'or persons guessing correct or nearest correct number. Second prize will be awarded to the person or persons guessing next nearest; near-est; and so on down the list until all prizes are awarded. No poison is entitled to moie than one pile. Winneis of prizes will be notified at earliest possible moment, and our next Issue will contain Judges' count of woidsand awauls, There will be no appeal fiom the .Judges decision.
