Her first engagement was In 1894, when she appeared In a revival reviv-al of "Shenandoah," In New York. Sho became a great favorite with New York audiences, but did not get a chance of showing what a truly great artist sho Is until tho production of Henry Arthur Jonen' play, "Mrs. Dana's De-fenso," In which she appeared ap-peared ln tho part of the unfortunate heroine. As Mabel Vaughan In "Tho Wilderness" sho hns again succeeded ln a role which has much of tho emotional emo-tional temperament of Mrs. Dane, but Is the opposite sldo of refined comedy. |
