Show CONCERNING MR. BULLEN. Herschel Rullen, Jr., Republican nominee for State Senator, was born In Richmond in 1870. His father is a native of the State of Maine, his mother coming from Haverfordwest, Wales. His early life was spent on the farm in Richmond and Lcwiston. He received his education In the public pub-lic schools of the county, thc Brlgham Young college, and the University of Utah, graduating from the latter institution in-stitution in 1800. The next three years of his life were spent in the district schools at Richmond and Lewlston, and in thc Co-op store at Richmond. During the school year of 180:M)4 he taught school In Logan and In April, 1804, left for Europe wheie he filled a mission, returning in June, 189(1. Another summer was spent on the farm, and another year in the public pub-lic schools, Richmond. In July, 1897, he was tendered, and accepted, thc position of secretary and treasurer of the Rrlgham Young college, which position he still holds. In the school election of 1000, he was elected a member mem-ber of the Logan City Hoard of Education, Educa-tion, the only elective olllco he ever held. He Is a man of culture, experience experi-ence and ability, alwajs faithful to the duties Imposed upon lilm. He has served as Republican county chah-man chah-man and has done loyal service for his party's cause. lie knows the needs of the county, has visited every town and hamlet and is well acquainted with our people. The diversified occupations oc-cupations of Ills life, ills personal popularity his ability and integrity, make him a formidable candidate foi the dignified olllce of State Senator, and he goes Into the campaign with more than even chances in his favor. |
