Show j A Huge Black Bass Tho Philadelphia Press tolls of tho largest black bass over caught In tho waters of Pennsylvania, according to tho records of tho Stato Fish Commission. Commis-sion. Dr. L. T. Trumbowcr of Nor-rlstown Nor-rlstown caught tho bass In tho Perklo-men Perklo-men Creek on Sept. 2 of last year. It measured 24 V Inches long, 17V6 inches In circumference back of tho first fin, and weighed six pounds six ounces. Dr. Trumbowcr had spent tho afternoon after-noon fishing near Collegovlllo with Indifferent In-different success. Among his captures was a catfish between four and flvo Inches long. As tho sun began to sink ho thought of tho catfish as suitable bnlt to luro any big bass beforo night act in. His conjecture proved correct, for In a few minutes tho bass pounc ed upon tho catfish. Then tho strug-glo strug-glo began. Tho bass was gamy, and Dr. Trumbowcr exhausted all his skill to land it, as ho lacked a landing net. Finding tho struggle might end in tho oscnpo of tho fish, Dr. Trumbower called for assistance. Iteeso 1.
