Show A letter. The following letter was wilttcn In response to a number of letteis from tho pupils or Mr. W. II. Appciley's room at the Woodruff school, and is an ciroit of ills 13- ear-old daughter, who Is now In San Francisco. Tho letter Is really remarkable foronoso young and we reproduce it with pleasure. San Fianclsco, April 22. Dear Friends, It gave me much pleasure to read all of your letters, so well written and so nicely composed. 1 thugkyou all for your respect and kind words of my dear father, your teacher. So many pupils do not appreciate u kind teacher teach-er until they grow up. I am sure ho musthaca splendid class of pupils, for a teacher to bo good he must have tho best nature In him appealed to. I try to do my best for all my teach-crs teach-crs so that I may be a good example to my associates, and command tho respect re-spect and loveof my teacher. The Dcmnan school which I attend Is considered ouo of tho best schools in San Francisco, It ranks highest in 'U scholarship and deportment. I think ,jfl this Is because there aro only girls at- , H tending. Mixed schools of boys and H girls do not rank so high. 'j At present my class Is studying ad- il dltion, subtraction, multiplication and "iH division or fractions. In grammar wc M arc studying parts of speech. Wcarc also studying geography, history, com- fJ position, drawing and spelling. Hl In all your letters you spoke of the M severe winter In Logan, while hero H wo havo only two seasons, summer and fl spring. It never gets below sixty dc- fl grccs. The hills are always green, the ' flowers arc In bloom, and no snow or ! Ice. I ex- J pect to spend my vacation in the In- M terlor or California, In Fresno county. iH You know San Francisco Is a coast , (H city, and almost every Sunday wo H spend tho day on the beach over look- 'H Ing the vast Pad lie Ocean. It Is a flH mighty ocean, and so calm and peace- ''H ful at times yet tho waves rise nioun- ,H tains high, which I have been told oc- H cur at certain times of tho year, and 'H then the moon has a great Influence ,H on ocean currents.
