Council Doings. Tho City council met in extra session ses-sion Thursday evening for tho purpose pur-pose of appointing a committee to sec after Logan river and have the same fixed to prevent any damage during high water tills spring. Thorcson moved that the chair appoint a com-mlttco com-mlttco of three with mayor added, and with power to act. The motion carried and N. M. nanscn, John Quaylc and T. II. Smith were appointed. On motion of Smith tho surveyor was instructed to establish a new grade on the south side of the Temple hill on Center street. On motion of Benson tho Mayor was-authorized was-authorized to ask tho O. S. L. officials offi-cials to placo a fow car loads of gravel on tho north side of tho station, as tho road in that section In almost impassable. Burris moved that when the assessment assess-ment Is made on the Logan, Hyde Park and Smithflcld Canal Co., that tho watcrmastcr bo authorized to select men to work out that portion which can be paid In labor. Authority was given for tho purchase pur-chase of a new ladder for tho fire department.
