Show STATE IS ON THE COMPANY'S SIDE Denver, Jan. 2i. The state of Colorado will intervene in the suit In the United States supreme court wherein tho Telluride Power company com-pany seeks to enforce the law of eminent em-inent domain and theroby prevent the removal of Its supply ditch from government land. Instructions to this effect were Issued last night by Governor Gov-ernor B. M. Ammons to Attorney Ocnoral Fred Fairar. Tho power company's supply ditch was built across government land under un-der the right of eminent domain as It applies to state government. The interior department fixed a rental charge which tho company refused to pay on the ground that it was too high. Tho government then brought suit to compel tho company to remove re-move Its ditch from government land Tho action of tho governor Is taken ta-ken on the ground that tho waters of the state are bolng jeopardized. Tho Telluride company recently was merged with the Utah Power & Light company and other companies. |
