Utah And Southern Idaho in Attendance. I More Interest Than Ever Before Being Shown t-i ' The big annual Farmers' Itoundup and Housekeepers convention opened in a rousing manner at the Agricultural Agricul-tural College yesterday morning. The forenoon waB given over to the matter of registration and getting acquainted ac-quainted In general and the afternoon after-noon to listening to tho address of welcomo by President Wldtsoo and responso In behalf of tho convention by Bishop Mllo A. Hendricks, of Po-catello, Po-catello, Idaho. Bishop Hendricks assumed as-sumed this responsibility In place of Bishop John Hall of Huntsvlllc, who was unable to bo present at tho gathering. Nearly two hundred people peo-ple had registered up to the close of Monday and a largo Influx of visitors visit-ors Is expected, Including a number who aro coming up from Salt Lake. Tho registration Is not confined to any one district of the state, but Includes In-cludes representatives from various districts In tho central and northern part of Utah, and a number of progressive pro-gressive farmers with their wives havo como down from Southern Idaho Ida-ho to remain hero during tho two weeks of tuo session. , Tho musical concert which has been announced on tho program to tako plnco Monday evening, has been postponed to this evening and will bo given' In tho tifbernaclot Prof. Georgo W. Thatcher of tho music department of tho college, has arranged ar-ranged a special program for this evening, and It is expected that a full i houses will characterize tho samo. i9 Tho. admission is free to the general public. One of tho features of the conforonco which Is of equal Interest to tho men as well as the women Is tho splendid display of electrical devices which occupies tho entlro south half of th0 fourth door of tho Woman's building. His talk will bo upon "The Methods of Fruit." Another special feature of tho opening open-ing day was the awarding of prizes In tho potato contest conducted by the college.
