With tho town In darkness because all power wires aro down and with rain and high winds giving warning of continued contin-ued danger, the residents of Mace, Idaho, are In a condition of panic, the result oi tho avalanche of snow and rock that crashed upon tho mountain side, burying James Flaherty, Fla-herty, a minor, under thlrtyjfeot of debris on tho outskirts of the town. Residents who know their 'homes aro in the path or former snowslldes are moving to safer quarters and tho school house has been thrown open to accommodate those who fear to sleep In their own dwellings'. Flaherty Is, so far, tho only known victim. Ho had gone to a nearby spring when the slide hurled his home from Its foundations. A companion com-panion of Flaherty escaped Injury. |
