Show B. Y. G. OPENS DOORS SEPT. 23 Preparations for the opening of the College on the 23d of this month are uearing completion. A band of cleaners arc putting the buildings in shape, the heating plant is being overhauled and placed in first class order, and other needed repairs throughout the institution arc being attended attend-ed to. Under the direction of Dr. Dailies, the biological laboratory labora-tory is being remodeled to meet the growing needs of this department. depart-ment. Text books and supplies, library books, and laboratory ap paralus are coming in rapidly. Professor Robiuon has just completed a most successful tout in the interest of tho College, and particularly of the new Normal School. He has visited leading towns in this and surrounding Ivalleys, including Pocatollo, Blaekfoot, Idaho Falls, Rcxburg, and other Idaho towns. He reports re-ports nn increasing interest throughout tho country in Normal Nor-mal work. Many young people are turning their attention to the teaching profession, nnd will enter tho College for the purpose of preparing to teach. Tre Graduation committee of tho Faculty nro gratified with the evidence thoy have of the general appreciation of the Normal School. The inquiries thoy have received from prospective graduates gradu-ates iudicato a largo increase of Normal students in next alumni class. The excellent work of the College Col-lege band last year, and the fact that there arc already more applications ap-plications than ever for band membership, make necessary the procuring of new instruments and uniforms as well as repairing of the old equipment. The uniforms uni-forms and many of the instruments instru-ments will be sent at once to eastern east-ern factories for remodeling and repairs, and the band will be in a condition for splendid work at the opening of the, school year. |
