Show Held Annual Con- j vention. Hyrum, Sept. 1. The Y.M.& Y. L.MII.A. of the Hyrum stake held their annual convention hero Sunday Sun-day Aug. 30th. Meetings were held separately at 10 a. m. arid 2 p. m. and jointly in the evening. L. R. Minrtinenu, Mr. Ross and MY. Taylor of Salt Cake City were in attendance and gave excellent ex-cellent instructions. There was a splendid attendance from the wnrds of the stake. The Hyrum State Bank opened open-ed for h,usincss last Saturday. Cashier Cony is well pleased with the oM'look of the institution. institu-tion. The bank presents a neat appearance, and is furnished throughout with up to "date materials mat-erials and labor saving devices. Hill and Hill, the cement contractors, con-tractors, have finished two bocks of sidewalk paving, and will start on tho third block to-morrow. All business concerns have paved the entire width of the walk in front of their places of business. The City is having six cement street crossings laid. Mr. Christensen of the Pioneer house, and others, hnvc purchased purchas-ed the vaeont lot west of the Post Office and will errect a business block thereon within tlie next forty days. At the Republican primary last Thursday evening Wm. R. Daley was elected Precineti Chairman and J. W. Jensen Secretary. The steam thresher recently purchased by a company of Hyrum Hy-rum men, is mow running nt full blast. The outfit is giving excellent excel-lent satisfaction. The Lyric moving picture shows held Mlondny and Thursday evenings even-ings nre quite well patronized, and are giving satisfaction. Mr. and Mrs. George Browning and Mr. and Mrs. John Carr of Ogden were Hyrum visitors the past week. They were the guests of their relatives.the Wilson family. fam-ily.
