Show Concert at Nibley Hall Big Success An appreciative audience of 500 persons per-sons was given a real musical treat at the 'Nibley Hall Wednesday evening at the opening concert. The hearers became somewhat impatient at the beginning when the concert was delayed de-layed over half an hour on account of thu accompanist not putting In his appearance. It seemed a little disgusting dis-gusting for it to become necessary to send after a person whose role was so important. Miss Luetic Hart's selection from "Faust" was the tirst number and the grace and ease with which she handled her violin and the sweet music rendered ren-dered brought forth much deserved applause. Apostle Heber J. Grant followed and as usual the audience demanded de-manded a second appearance, n. L. Wilson's "Carmenla" by Edith Grant was pleasingly sung. She was encored. H. S. Ensign easily won the house with his strong baritone voice and his rendition of "Star of My Lire" was captivating. Prof. W. O. Robinson and Zella Smart of local fame gave excellent readings. The ears of the audience were tickled by Miss Smart's reading of Riley's "Bear Story." Miss Hazel Barnes of KaysVllle, who rendered two selections, is a young singer with a promising voice. The college authorities responsible for the concert should certainly be congratulated con-gratulated for getting together singers sing-ers of such recognized anility. |
