Show "Salome" was originally written in Frencn by Oscar Wilde and -Immediately put Into rehearsal by Sarah Bernhart for presentation at the Palace theater in London. The .censor .cen-sor prohibited the piece aonce, however, how-ever, and Bernhardt never gave It afterward. The play was next presented pre-sented In New York City In operatic version by the Metropolitan Opera Co. but was stopped afterthe first night; and now the only successful dramatic performance of "Salome" is being given by America's new tragedian, Wilfrid Roger.and a notable company, coming from their great four weeks run In San Francisco and now on tour df the principal cltle-; of the United States.' "Salome" will be esn for one night only at th"e Thatcher opera house and the occasion should prove the dramatic event of the season In Logan. |
