Show Not all good men cover their animals ani-mals with blankets when they have occasion to leave them standing In the cold; neither do all bad men leavo their animals uncovered under such conditions As a rule, It Is the careless, care-less, the thoughtless, man who fails to treat his animals humanely. The thoughtful good man feeds his animals ani-mals regularly with the proper amount of food, furnishes them comfortable com-fortable housing and good clean beds, and keeps them warm In severe weather, weath-er, Lecauso he is humane at heart and loves the helpless dumb creature in his possession. Tho thoughtful bad man invariably takes caro of his animals ani-mals because ho knows that he gets tho best service from them by so doingthey do-ingthey llvo longer, can do more work, can be sold easier and for a better bet-ter price when ho cares to get rid of them. Many men who pray loudest sadly neglect their animals and many men mean enough to beat their wives dally, seldom, if ever, abuse their animals ani-mals in any way. The man who is not feeding his dog or his cat or his horses and cattle, providing proper shelter for them, and taking care of them in a general way, Is hardly worthy of possessing either. At least such a man can mako and keep no more worthy resolution than that to change his treatment of his animals. He will get better service from them and at the same time Mnd a greater Joy In living. |
