If the Salt Lakers do not succeed in , securing legislation consolidating the new Federal building with the one at the state capital, that structure (or which Congressman Howell has secured se-cured an appropriation of $50,000 will ba erected on tho North Main street "tithing yard property." The word that this site had been selected by the government ofllclals came on Saturday in a dispatch of which the follow Inn Is a part: "WASHINGTON, D 0., January 4. Assistant Secretary Edwards of the treasury department today selected sites' for proposed public buildings at Provoand Logan. For the Logan site, offered b' Mclvln J. Ballard, price 4J.C00, on & cast side of Main street, between First and Second North streets, was accepted. This site has a frontage of 120 feet by 130 feet deep. The appropriation for the building and site Is $50,000, of which $15,000 is available the present year." This settles the matter, and while the selection probably proved somewhat of a disappointment to many they will have to toko their medicine and bear up with whatever composure they can muster.
