Cornlok, president of the board - of trustees of the Agricultural College, finally decided that lio could not accept ac-cept reappointment at the hands of Governor Cutler under existing condj-tlonsand condj-tlonsand handed In his resignation. Ills reason, summed In few words, Is that he believed he would be merely a tlgurchead on a board stacked against him. 'Tho Guvnah" was probably well ' sallstled that he resigned and he Immediately Im-mediately appointed Col. Ed. Loose, of Provo, to succeed him. In the legislature the college appropriation appro-priation was slaughtered. It Is given out that the collego was awarded $9:i.0O0, but only $70,003 of this coeos to tho collego proper, the remainder to bo spent on the various stato experiment ex-periment stations. Salt Lake papers havo published all kinds of surmises about the new board's probablo action, and as to the present attitude of President Kerr, tint gentleman having been quoted In many Instances ns "having resigned from tho presidency."' President Kurr authorizes the statement state-ment that ho will not be at the Agricultural Agri-cultural College next year, and that at tho next board meeting ho will present pre-sent whatever ho sees fit but ho has not yet resigned. |
